Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. She was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature long, blonde hair with a bubbly personality, reveals simple methods to master and removes the fear of eating at restaurants in her series Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine tradition and its environment. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a youngster, growing up in New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled after earning an English degree as well as a communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. I loved every minute of being a student in The Culinary Institute of America she states. I couldn't learn or do enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. While in Italy she came to appreciate and understand the philosophy behind Italian food and culture that left a lasting impact in her viewpoint. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children living with challenges. She is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. Burrell speaks on her culinary passion, and also shares her knowledge of the culinary world when she travels throughout the US in the roles of speakers and mentors. Anne said she felt lucky that I could communicate her love of cooking to the people around her.
