Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B with a distinctive mix. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway through The Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. Sunshine has been born Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta now, Sunshine is born in Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she began her career as a musician playing and singing at the church in town. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta in Spellman College. The Fighting Temptations The first single to feature her vocals was called Stalk You a house 12 issued exclusively in Japan and was later remixed by many producers and remains an essential part of her live set. Her voice has also been a part of singing for The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, Tyler Perry hired her as his primary keyboardist for his stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 for a position as Choral Director of Dreamgirls the stage show in Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition through her performances on four consecutive days in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform during President Obama's inaugural in 2009.
